Onslow working on Off-site Wastewater Changes

The Onslow County Planning Board has been discussing off-site septic systems and concerns with the continued use of these systems in subdivision design over the past several months.  The Board will be holding a workshop meeting with developers and design professionals to share ideas for additional changes to the Subdivision Ordinance to address some of their concerns regarding off-site systems.  This meeting will be held in the Halsey Meeting Room in the Planning & Development Department building on Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m.  We are attaching a handout that includes three lists:  the first is a list of the current requirements; the second is a listing of additional standards for consideration; and the third is a listing of ideas that the Board had considered but has not deleted from consideration.

We hope you can attend this important meeting so we can get feedback and possibly additional ideas before the Board takes any final action to recommend a new set of text changes to the Board of Commissioners.
