New Commissioners & New Chairmen

Last night New Hanover County, Brunswick County, and Pender County all swore in incumbents as well as new board members. In New Hanover County Incumbent Ted Davis, commissioner elect – Jonathan Barfield, and commissioner elect – Jason Thompson all were sworn in. Commissioner Davis was named Chairman and Commissioner Thompson was elected vice chair. In Brunswick County Incumbents Bill Sue and Marty Cooke along with newcomers Scott Phillips, and Charles Warren, were sworn in. Commissioners Bill Sue and Phil Norris will remain chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners. In Pender County, Incumbents Jimmy Tate, and Franklin Rivernbark each took the oath of office. Current Chairman Commissioner David Williams stepped down and gave the helm to Commissioner Jimmy Tate as Chairman and Commissioner George Brown as Vice Chair.
