Low Impact Development Permitting Tool

LID Permitting Tool Now Available

As mentioned in the training hosted by New Hanover County on September 30, 2008 a copy of the LID-EZ spreadsheet is now available for download.  This new tool will familiarize local engineers and design professionals with LID-EZ, a quantitative stormwater analysis tool for projects using Low Impact Development techniques.  To download the modeling tool click on the Excel document below.

An LID-EZ web site for future versions and updates will soon be available including a FAQ section along with a section for you to provide feed back on the spreadsheet.  In the interim, if you have any questions or comments please forward them to Shawn Ralston with New Hanover County, Phil Prete with City of Wilmington, or Brigit Flora with Brunswick County.

Note to Intended Users:
The spreadsheet is formatted for Excel 2003.  Newer versions of excel may have to take steps to ensure that the macros are able to run; this is usually in the security settings.  Setting your macros security to medium should allow for everything to work fine.  There is an issue with the Mac version of excel, but as of yet the root of that issue has not been determined. The spreadsheet can only be used for LID submittals and that determination lies with the local jurisdiction.  As stated by DWQ, they will accept the spreadsheet as the calculation backup for any LID project within these three jurisdictions.
