Level Spreader – Vegetated Filter Strip workshop

On Friday, April 23, 2010, a “BMPs for Seasonally High Water Tables” workshop will be held in Wrightsville Beach, NC, at the Shell Island Resort. This full-day workshop will focus on two BMPs (Level Spreader – VFS and Water Harvesting Systems) that have application on landscapes with seasonally high water tables. Special considerations for coastal and coastal plain issues will be discussed.

NCDENR officials as well as NCSU faculty will discuss the new design standards associated with NCDENR’s LS-VFS guidance. At the Wrightsville Beach workshop, attendees will also learn how to use Rainwater Harvester™,  NCSU’s water harvesting model that has been recommended for use by NC DENR.
