BASE Responds to Environmental Protection Agencies Proposed Stormwater Guidelines

On December 1, 2009, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published effluent limitations guidelines (ELGs) and new source performance standards (NSPS) to control the discharge of pollutants from construction sites.  These rules have gone into effect in 2010 and will be phased in over a four year timeframe for projects greater than 10 acres.  The turbidity limit for water flowing off a site is 280 NTUs–not much more cloudy than regular tap water.

The BASE Governmental Affairs staff responded today to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in regards to their plans by submitting the attached comments.
