BASE, a 501c6 non-profit, advocates for business and industry in southeastern North Carolina, focusing on New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, and Onslow counties. Established in 2003 as a real estate advocacy partnership, BASE expanded its footprint in 2015 through partnerships with organizations like the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and an increased focus on regional business.

Under the leadership of Past BASE Chairmen Brian Eckel, Hill Rogers, Sam Franck, Tim Milam and Dave Spetrino, BASE collaborates with regional business and economic development organizations. As the sole full-time advocate for business, BASE is committed to achieving the best results for the community. With a laser focus on advocacy, BASE efficiently tracks and addresses local, state, and federal issues impacting the regional business community. The organization’s mission is to support public policy attracting diverse business and industry, enhancing economic opportunities in southeastern North Carolina.
