2023 Legislative and Public Policy Agenda Development Underway

Now that we know the makeup of our County Boards of Commissioners, Congress, and the North Carolina General Assembly for 2023, we can more effectively work to craft our pro-business legislative and public policy agenda for the coming year. We have begun the process of working with our advocacy partners and business members to identify collective priorities that will facilitate continued growth an investment in North Carolina—and southeastern North Carolina.

If you have a legislative, judicial or public policy issue that is hampering your business or investment, please let us know. While many positive changes have been made in the business, regulatory, tax and permitting arenas over the prior years, there is always more work to be done. So far we have heard from members regarding issues such as angel investment tax credits, workforce/talent, infrastructure initiatives, wetlands, DEQ permitting/fees and sand in CBRA zones.
