"Well worth the money! I’ve been working in this industry well over 20 years, and this is the lowest cost, highest value work I have ever seen. I always knew the regulatory pressures that our industry faced, but at least now I know that there is an organization fighting and winning on our behalf." - Kevin Hine, Duplin Land Development, LLC, Exec. Wilmington Land Development Code "Clean-Up" PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 07 October 2010 08:07

The City of Wilmington is proposing: To amend Chapter 16 entitled Buildings and Building Regulations and Chapter 18 entitled Land Development Code of Subpart B. Part III, Technical Codes of the Wilmington City Code to correct typographical and formatting errors. A full copy of the proposed amendments can be found below.

The LDC contains regulations that guide the physical development of the city and should be periodically updated to accommodate emerging trends and practical recommendations from staff who utilize the code. Routine code maintenance ensures the code is meeting the city’s needs and is providing for quality development. The first code clean-up was heard by the Planning Commission in October 2005 and was adopted by City Council in November 2005. The second code clean-up was approved by the Planning Commission on December 7, 2007 and was adopted by City Council on April 8, 2008. This code clean-up effort is the third in a series of what is to be a biennial (once every two years) maintenance effort.

The Planning Commission discussed the document during their October 6, 2010 meeting and continued it to their November meeting to allow continued discussion. Please forward the document to anyone you think  may be interested in the update. If you have any comments or questions, please contact Tyler Newman at 799-2611 as soon as possible.
