"Well worth the money! I’ve been working in this industry well over 20 years, and this is the lowest cost, highest value work I have ever seen. I always knew the regulatory pressures that our industry faced, but at least now I know that there is an organization fighting and winning on our behalf." - Kevin Hine, Duplin Land Development, LLC, Exec. February Meeting (Wednesday Feb. 23rd)

Commercial Development Council and Land Use Council members please join us Wednesday February 23rd at 10:30 am here at the WCFHBA offices (3801 Wrightsville Ave.) as Pender County Utilities Director Michael Mack, provides the two Councils with a comprehensive look inside the Pender County Utilities Department and the many water and sewer projects that are under construction.

In this month's briefing Mr. Mack will give a brief description about the six (6) Water and Sewer Districts: Rocky Point/Topsail, Maple Hill, Scott's Hill, Central, Moore's Creek and Columbia-Union.  At the same time Mr. Mack will discuss the many important water and sewer construction- related projects and upgrades that are taking place system-wide.

You will learn about the new regional water plant on US 421 and the associated impacts.  In addition to water, the County is also working hard to provide for sewer availability throughout the County. Learn about capacity increases in the Rocky Point area for new commercial development and learn how Pender County and the Cape Fear Public Utilities Authority are collaborating on a possible new sewer treatment plant to be located adjacent to the County's new water plant on US 421.  Learn how along the US 17 corridor in eastern Pender County, Integra Water, LLC and the County are collaborating on a public-private arrangement that will provide for public sewer collection and treatment along the corridor, including and beyond Hampstead.

We look forward to seeing you Wednesday February 23rd. In the meantime, visit www.ncbase.org for the latest Governmental Affairs updates.
