Both New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington remain engaged in separate comprehensive planning initiatives, both of which will set the course for future growth and guide updates to development regulations. Thank you to those that have participated in the meetings with New Hanover County Planning and provided feedback. The Planning Board and County Commissioners are scheduled for a joint work session to review the draft future land use map on October 19. PLEASE take the time to review the map with respect to your current investments, your future projects and what is realistic/feasible in the real estate market in New Hanover County.

On the City side, the major part of the comprehensive plan was released at the beginning of May. The City’s comprehensive plan is an expansive document with a great deal of illustrations and graphic representations of the potential future of Wilmington. The City Council and Planning Commission will be meeting together soon to discuss the document.  You can find the document online at now.
